Navy Region Legal Service Offices (RLSOs) provide legal assistance to eligible personnel and family members around the world to promote readiness and to enhance morale and quality of life. "Eligible Personnel" who may use the links below to seek service are limited to:

  • Active duty servicemembers (of all uniformed services) and their dependents,
  • Reservists and National Guard who are mobilizing or on active duty for a period of 30 days or greater,
  • Retirees and their dependents,
  • Members of Allied Forces and their family members assigned CONUS with US Forces
  • Special circumstances:
    • Former spouses (of servicemembers) who are victims of domestic abuse,
    • Former spouses who satisfy "20/20/20" criteria and have not re-married,
    • Dependents of servicemembers separated for domestic abuse
    • Dependents of deceased retirees

Personnel NOT eligible for service using the below links include:

  • Veterans who are not retirees (including those with 100% disability rating)
  • Reservists and dependents who are not mobilizing or on active orders for a period exceeding 30 days or greater
  • Dependents who are not enrolled in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS)

Legal Assistance Offices make final determinations on eligibility for services in accordance with JAGINST 5800.7G 0705. Personnel not eligible for services are encouraged to seek legal assistance from the resources listed at www.jag.navy.mil.

Notaries and Powers of Attorney (CONUS)

Eligible personnel can schedule a customer service appointment or utilize walk-in periods (if available in the local area) to obtain powers of attorney or have other legal documents notarized - no login required.

Notaries and Powers of Attorney (OCONUS)

Additional eligible personnel overseas include: GS civilians, NAF employees overseas, and their dependents; DOW contractors overseas.
